What fees does FundCreators charge?

FundCreators charges a 5% platform fee on funds raised, plus payment processing fees (typically 2.9% + £0.30 per transaction). For returns distribution, we charge a 5% fee on the returns distributed to backers. Subscription pricing for teams is available on our Pricing page.

How do I contribute to a project?

Browse projects and click on one you're interested in. Click the "Back This Project" button, enter the amount you wish to contribute, and follow the payment process. You can choose to contribute anonymously if you prefer.

We currently accept credit and debit cards for contributions. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a leading payment processor.

Is there a minimum or maximum contribution amount?

The minimum contribution amount is £1. There is no set maximum, though very large contributions may require additional verification for fraud prevention purposes.

How do returns work?

When you back a project, you become eligible for returns based on the project's future profit. The creator reports revenue periodically, and a percentage (stakeholder percentage) of that profit is distributed to backers proportionally based on their contribution amount.

When will I receive my returns?

Returns are distributed according to the return frequency set by the project creator (monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual). You'll receive notifications when returns are calculated and ready for payout.

Is there a guarantee I will receive returns?

No, returns are based on the actual profit generated by the project. There is no guarantee a project will be commercially successful or generate any profit. Only contribute amounts you're comfortable with considering the risk involved.

How do I create a new project?

Switch to "Creator View" in the top navigation, then click "Create Project". Fill in all required information about your project, including title, description, funding goal, stakeholder percentage, and timeline. You can save it as a draft and come back to it later.

What is stakeholder percentage?

The stakeholder percentage is the portion of your project's future profit that you commit to sharing with your backers. For example, if you set 20% as the stakeholder percentage, 20% of your project's profit will be distributed among backers proportional to their contribution.

What happens if my project does not reach its funding goal?

If your project doesn't reach its funding goal (or minimum funding threshold) by the end date, it will be marked as "failed" and all backers will receive refunds automatically. No fees will be charged for failed projects.
